地質標本館位於臺大地質科學系館旁，內部屋樑以臺灣檜木為材料，屋脊上的圓柱型天窗、黑瓦及兩旁的五邊型長窗是典型的日式建築特色，歷經70餘年至今仍完好如初。標本館藏有大量珍貴的典藏標本，包括化石標本、礦物標本、岩石標本，總數超過三千五百件以上。
