Beautiful location with an interesting history.
Kudos to the team of tour guides sharing the history.

Interesting visit, but it felt as though the National Historic Site exists to celebrate the positive aspects of our history but glosses over the dark years completely.

The ferry to the island is quick and convenient, and the staff both on the ferry and the island were nothing short of spectacular.

Lots of information about the importance the island played in Canada’s early national defence. Disappointed however, that there was little to no mention of the role George’s Island played during the atrocities committed against the Acadian people during the great deportation. It would be nice if Parks Canada would acknowledge what happened in the 1700s as opposed to just the 1800s and 1900s.

It is an interesting spot to visit. The ferry is about $25/person and you don't need to book it in advance. Guided tours of the historic fort are complimentary, you can spend about 30-40 min exploring the tunnels etc. There're a few picnic tables all around, so bring some snacks if you feel like it.

Beautiful spot, lots to see and learn. I feel that since park Canada took it over they have blocked off some of what is to see that you could 10 years ago. See the island at least once.

We really enjoyed our trip to Georges island. The guided tour through the tunnels of the fort was very well done. The interpreter Alec who was out tour guide was very knowledgeable. The ride aboard the harbour ferry was excellent as well. We had a picnic while waiting for the return trip(bring your own food or purchase the day in advance with your ticket). Highly recommended!
