“Beautiful garden and maintained very well! The paths are easy to walk on. The flowers were in full bloom. There were people just taking a stroll, sitting on park benches, or grabbing a bite with friends/coworkers. Great place to eat outside. I can imagine locals coming here for daily walks. There are probably events held at the park as well during the summer. So glad I got to visit while I was in Halifax!”

“Although our experience at Murphy camping on the Ocean was at the end of the season and we did not participate in the nightly fireside festivities or morning coffee at the Sailors Rest, we had a wonderful weekend. We found the owners and other guests were very friendly. The owners were knowledgeable of currents and tides as we are new SCUBA divers and were interested in taking a dive. The water was very rough but the small inlet was a good area to practice some of our SCUBA safety procedures. We didn't manage to get our scallop licences but we found a couple golf balls.”

“Best camping spot ever!! I wish I could have stayed and entire week or more!! I will definitely be coming back. The owner and employees are so sweet and thoughtful. They reply fast and will provide you all information/advice you might need. This place is right next to the water, providing an amazing view, access to swimming water and the option to rent kayaks (or use your own). Very close to many walking trails and different access spots to amazing beaches! The water is so clear and the sand so light, it feels like you're in Florida! Also, you only have to walk a few meters away from the shore and you've already got water to your shoulders!”

“A beautiful new park and community garden by the Northwoodcare Foundation. Described as “ a community collaboration to create and accessible, welcoming space for all ages and stages of life”. It is a brilliant concept to bring the local community and Northwood residents together. Note that the paths aren’t maintained in the wintertime, hence the barriers in the photos, but the park is open if you want to use it at your own risk.”
