“The Golden Rooster has that traditional deli feel, beginning with the glass store front and you pulling a numbered ticket at the entrance. You realize immediately that you aren't prepared to be served because before you lays a glass display hosting dozens of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and breads to choose from. Behind you are shelves that rise to the ceiling with biscuits, bread, chocolates. Eventually you accept that you're in over your head and allow the sandwich maker to give you a suggestion and you run with it. Each sandwich is made with care and a smile, loaded onto a cafeteria tray if you so choose, and have a seat after paying. Flavours then assault your senses as you enjoy the type of sandwich your mom, aunt, or grandmother (IF you were lucky enough to have any of these in your life) used to make when you were a kid. Tl;dr great sandwich at a fair price! Complete with good service and a traditional deli atmosphere.”

“We love to try new food and we were certainly not disappointed here. This family restaurant is not fancy but the service is great and the food is delicious. The menu is simple and everything is made from scratch. Many regular customers come and get their orders to go. We decided to eat in. Service was fast and the servings are large. I had the chickpea platter (spicy). I wish I could try the roti but I am gluten intolerant. All the platters come with sides. If you are vegetarian/ gluten free/ dairy free, you can find options there. We will definitely go again.”

“Stopped for supper on the way to see Made In Italy at the Thousand Island Playhouse in Gananoque. The Hamburger Deluxe and Shepherd’s Pie were excellent. Loved the friendly service and the ambiance. Will be back for certain. Could easily become a favorite.”

“Good place to go for pizza and beer. Great choice of meat and veggies. They even have a beyond meat plant based option. Lovely seating outside on the sidewalk. Very busy but they have a great system for processing a large volume of customers, so don't be afraid of the lineup. Personally I find the dough too thin and wish there was a hand shaped option.”

“I have been searching for Kingston's best burger, and I think I have found it. They have quite a varied menu, and all sorts of interesting choices for a burger lover. I finally opted for their Smokehouse burger with the regular 6 oz patty, and it was FABULOUS. Never had a better burger that I can recall. The fries were also excellent. My brother had pulled pork on tacos and a salad, and said both were delicious. Our server Laura was on top of her game - friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive.”

“I knew right away that this would be a good choice for Chinese food. Decor and tables are a bit old. Menu is big and they have great dinner specials. The food was great. Overall great balance of quality, quantity and price. I look forward to sampling more of their menu.”

“Very nice place. We've been there many times. The food is excellent and the beer equally so. Staff is really nice but service can be a little slow sometimes; but still worth it. I highly recommend it.”

“Quirky, charming historic inn in the heart of downtown Kingston, this lovely little spot is all you need for comfort. It may not be the most upscale of places downtown, but what it lacks in polish, it makes up for in character. Exposed stone walls in some rooms reveal the history and age of this inn. Having a pub on the mainfloor will remind you that this truly is a historical building. Parking is a block or two away and most of Kingston's best restaurants are right around the corner. I definitely recommend staying here if you like character over crowds.”

“I talked to a musician in the park by the fountain and he recommended I go to Toucans that night for drinks and good music, I was not disappointed. The bartenders Were extremely friendly, if I were local I'd be there every weekend and know them by name. The local brew was phenomenal and they were cool enough to let me roll a joint at the bar real quick to take a smoke out back. We tipped big that night, I'll be back one day.”

“I have been here several times and each time I love it! This is a fantastic place to sit on an amazing patio, enjoy good company and drinks. This last time we came to Chez Piggy to enjoy some appetizers and wine before heading out to dinner. The service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. My son had the oysters and I had the small charcuterie board. The portions were generous and the wine was perfect. Can't wait to return!”

“They say best poutine in town. But the burgers are where it's at here. They are family business and don't use Uber eats or skip the dishes. They have a dedicated delivery service and support local businesses. If you're looking for the greasy downtown joint. This is it. Not too greasy. Just right!”

“This is what you would call a hole in the wall. But do not let the restaurant's ambiance fool you. Servers are very friendly and food is amazing! Portion sizes are good and prices are comparable to what you get. I recommend the Cambodian Village”

“We came to Kingston for one night and hoped around to different restaurants to get a true feel for it rather than settling on one restaurant. We had read great reviews of Atomica so we made a reservation, planning to have finish our Kingston meal with a bang. Unfortunately, we were forgotten and after being seated waited a very long time for anyone to come over to ask us for our order or even if we wanted drinks or water. The food was great and the staff were super attentive and accommodating after the mishap. We were left feeling like if we'd had a better table and server we may have had a better experience. The atmosphere was bustling though our section seemed like an afterthought.”

“The courtyard patio/terrace was a perfect way to have dinner on a hot July evening. The food was very tasty, the water drinkable (no chlorine taste). There were few items on the menu that I actually wanted to eat, but the chicken supreme was very tasty. The seasonings were spot on. (The veggies were on the burnt side, leaving me to debate whether to give them 4 or 5 stars. I opted for five as the flavours were much better than another restaurant I tried recently downtown.)”

“A great place to visit if your are hanging out with your friends. Excellent staff service. The place is too big so you may not find it difficult to find your spot. As well as a good setup to watch sports. 5 ????”
