I'm a huge pizza fan. The chains, the mom and pops, high end restaurants, dedicated pizzerias, I have tried a lot of pizza around the US and Canada. I had no idea that yesterday was going to be "the day" for me.

There will be a day in each of our lives when we eat the best pizza we've ever eaten, and maybe ever will eat. A day we hit our pizza peak.

You take a bite and think "Holy smokes, this is the best pizza I've ever eaten." For me, the fateful chain of events that lead to this started two days ago.

You see, a friend had a get together and his family ordered the spinach delight and chicken shawarma. Well, I didn't have my antacid tablets with me and passed on the shawarma. The spinach delight was VERY good. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but right up there. Top 5 for sure.

One person eating the shawarma proclaimed "Bomb bomb." and there were nods of agreement around the kitchen. Well, being a savvy pizza connoisseur, I had to know for myself precisely how bomb.

I informed my wife of a new development in my awareness of the local pizza scene. We promptly ordered a shawarma and a spinach delight the next day. To my shock and horror I was informed they don't deliver to my area. Well, picking up the pizza could skew the results. Everyone knows a delivered pizza is the gold standard.

Luckily, the employees were highly capable and hell bent on ensuring I was able to obtain the pizza. The stakes were high, and they pulled through. We worked out an extra delivery fee and got the order going.

40 minutes later it arrived. We got set up, put on the latest episode of The Mandalorian, and I slammed back a few tums. Then, it happened. I turned to my wife, who foolishly hadn't yet obtained a slice, and said "I.. have to say something. You know (our current #1 pizza place, located in Alberta)'s pizza? I know this is gonna sound crazy but this is better. This is the best pizza I've ever had."

She's a huge fan of this other place and I thought it would cloud her judgment. But, after trying it, I saw the look on her face and I knew she agreed. It was in fact the best pizza in North America. When I've tried pizza more extensively around the world I will update this review with how it stacks up on the world stage.

Pizza is good, but lacks toppings. I ordered an extra topping and I think I saw only 2 slices on the whole pizza. When I am paying extra for Prosciutto and Genoa Salami I expect to see it on every slice, and not so thin that you cannot see it. Ordered wings Honey garlic, small wings lots of honey but no sight of the garlic. I do like there classic Italian Pizza's but please add more topping to it. Will give it another try hoping that they will increase the toppings. Owners and staff are friendly and accommodating

My husband and I own Lulu's Shawarma. So we don't do a lot of take-out & we're pretty picky about where we eat. Fri after work we saw this little shop on Upper Wellington & Queensdale, it's not the prettiest but Rizgar and I know about not being fancy. Good things come in small packages. So we stop here and order a pizza and wings deal. When I order my pizza I'm a little picky I need a extra thick crust with lil sauce I put green pep, mush, pep on the whole thing & on 1 half I get hot peppers & the other half I get extra cheese. Judy had no problem making this order for me, because of the extra thick crust it more harder to cook. you have to watch it to much to not under or over cook it. & she was extra careful when she sliced it so I didn't get hot pep on my half . When we got home & finally ate the pizza it was the best one we had, the next day at work we kept talking about their pizza & wings. So we went back that night & order the same thing, while we were waiting for our order another couple had come in & said last night was their first time there & had to come back too. We got home the pizza was exactly the same, perfect. wings were nice & juicy & just the right amount of sauce, not drowning in it. but enough to make you lick your fingers. The owner Judy super nice lady always smiling & really friendly. Rizgar & I highly recommend Firestone Pizza & Wings

Had their large pepperoni pizza, very tasty. Good amount of cheese and sauce. A bit light on the toppings though. Crust is also on the thinner side but very tasty bread.
