Rise Above Pizza & Wings

Vegan pizza so good, you won’t miss the meat-and-dairy real deal. As a big fan of Rise Above’s original St. Catharines restaurant, I was thrilled to see they’d be setting up shop with a pizzeria right here in Hamilton. The seitan wings are next-level, with a texture and taste as close to chicken as any plant-based alternative I’ve shoved in my face. My favourite pizza is the Buffalo Wing, which is so intensely flavourful and filling that I can barely finish the personal-sized option by myself.

I’m not by any means a true vegan, but I do try (for ethical and nutritional reasons) to eat plant-based meals as often as I can. Fantastic local spots like Rise Above make it easy to do that.

Pretty good overall! Never had strictly vegan pizza at a vegan pizzeria but this was awesome. The seitan wings were amazing, and the pizza itself was very tasty. I was just a bit chilly during the experience, can't wait to go back and try some of the other pizzas and apps!

Went here Saturday night for dinner and had the “wings” with Sriracha Lime sauce and the Balsamic Pineapple pizza. Wings came right away and they were delicious. Pizza took a bit longer but vegan food does take longer to make from what I’ve been told. But the wait was worth it. Pizza was delicious too. The service was great, we had Pippa taking care of us and she was great to deal with.
Will be going back again soon.

Really good wings and the pizza was pretty good. I loved the cheese they made, tasted like real cheese. The wings and drinks came really fast but we had to wait a bit for the pizza. Nice place, just a bit expensive, but it's great to see a vegan pizza and wing place in Hamilton!

Excessive wait for our dinner (1hr).. not sure why.. others seemed to have timely dinners. Pizza cheese was very loose, almost like a sauce.. pizza not terribly flavourful. Wings were ok .. very saucy too. Kale salad.. had .. kale dressing and croutons ????????‍♀️. My biggest disappointment.. no wine! ????
