We went to Shaolin Underground this week and we had a blast. The underground level is definitely a better experience than the ground level. We worked our way through the cocktail menu and highly recommend the MoonBear and the Beach Water with gin. We also tried everything on the food menu. Top picks were the Brussels sprouts, the mango salad and the Shaolin Bao. Sooo good. Then, when we were about to leave our cozy basement booth, DJ TRBL kicked off another two hours of entertainment. We only wished there were booths on the opposite side of us so we could throw down dance challenges to the other guests samurai style.
Nice cozy dance bar on James. Good tunes!
Its great place to meet up with friends. DJ is funny. Nice atmosphere.
Went here on a busy Friday night. We ordered a good portion of the food off the "tapas/fusion" style menu (description of our server). The Bao definitely a must try as were some of the interesting vegetable dishes- very flavourful. The meat-based dishes were underwhelming and cooked much less effectively (the bao being the exception). However, the value for the money was not great, the server messed up our drink order (she seemed very confused the whole night), and the final bill had a few incorrect items. Overall, this was a let-down but there are some redeeming dishes if you want a quick snack.
