The Heather

What an experience! each night only includes 1 seating of 6 people. The chef prepares everything in front of you. He is very knowledgeable and holds a great conversation.
I highly recommend the alcohol pairing with dinner.

Wonderful host, wonderful food and a really cool concept! The food is made with local ingredients and the drinks are sourced locally as well. The intimate atmosphere makes for a relaxing evening.

Let me start off by reiterating what other commenters have mentioned - anyone who has given The Heather a 1 star review has NOT eaten there! Upon making reservations, you are to provide your credit card details. It is made VERY clear that you will be charged full price if you cancel your reservation less than a week in advance. A confirmation email was then sent stating the cancellation policy. An additional email was sent about two weeks out mentioning this again. As The Heather is a six seat dining experience, enforcing this cancellation policy seems very fair. I’m not quite sure how this could’ve been made clearer to people.

We had the greatest experience dining at The Heather. Each dish was delicious and included local ingredients. The halibut was phenomenal - it truly had to be the best fish dish I’ve ever eaten. The drink pairings were great as well!

We have enjoyed dining at The Heather during the 12 seat format and now the 6 seat chef's counter. Matt continues to create delicious, innovative tastings that are creative but approachable. We have never had a dish we didn't like and many that were amazing. The seasonality of the menu shines through and the selective pairing of unique wines and ciders/beers and sometimes Coca Cola is the perfect complement. Well done, Matt.

The Heather is an absolute gem of a restaurant. Seating only six, it's a unique experience at a chef's counter and Matt, the proprietor chef, does not disappoint. The menu he creates is excellent, and if chosen, paired excellently with beverages throughout the evening. The atmosphere is very unique, and Matt is as engaging as his guest would like him to be, answering questions about everything that is thrown his way. My wife and I left thoroughly satisfied and will be returning again and again as the menu changes throughout the seasons.
