Patio was much quieter than indoors. The food was good and the service decent. I was surprised no ranch dressing or celery/carrot with wings but they were tasty along with my meatloaf and some type of curry fruit and veggie dish my mate ordered. All in all we were happy. As well, they had decaf coffee which was nice.

This is a lovely English-style pub in the picturesque town of Merrickville, Ontario. It was a lovely, late summer day and we choose to eat outdoors in the small patio. The food was imaginative and delicious but not outside the bounds of "pub fare". I had a fantastic chicken, green apple, cranberry, brie sandwich on cranberry bread along with a fresh salad. My wife chose the fish tacos, which she said were tasty and in generous portions. The selection of draft beers is good and all the food is fresh. People at the table next to ours had a blue cheese hamburger and said it was the best they'd ever eaten. There was just one downside, and that was, while the staff were friendly, courteous and knowledgeable, the actual service was quite slow. But frankly that was a minor drawback and we really had a fine time for a reasonable price. We recommend it.

The atmosphere is great in the Goose. The food fare is typical to what you would expect from a pub style restaurant and the price is typically pretty reasonable except when it comes to the wings. $15 for 7 or 8 average sized wings feels out to lunch to me.
