Can’t go wrong with this gem. Highly recommend the oysters and beef tartare for something light and fresh to enjoy over a delicious cocktail. Have yet to try the rest of the tasty menu but I know I’ll be back! Service was exceptional!
I really enjoyed this bistro. I'm new to the neighbourhood and happened upon it as I was walking by.
I ordered the charcuterie with two blue cheeses from Quebec. They were both fantastic, served with a homemade conserve and fresh fruit. Very nice.
Service was great. The ambiance was perfect for an after work wind down. No blaring music or loud sports screens.
I noticed they have a lobster roll on the menu which I'll try next time.
Overall, a very pleasant experience.
The food was amazing, the service was abysmal. One of the two waiters should definitely NOT be in the service industry... just too arrogant. Who wants to put up with that when paying for a meal?
I feel bad giving it 3 stars, because the food WAS very good.
But part of going to a restaurant is the experience itself and not "just" the food, and this guy seriously ruined it for us.
Conflicted about this place. Service was very good, attentive and responded to requests quickly. We went for brunch and ordered the pancakes, salad bowl and the jasper breakfast (2 eggs toast and bacon)
My husband loved his salad bowl and my daughter’s pancakes were unbelievable. That’s where the problem lies. My plate looked like a beige mess. Eggs, potatoes, bacon and unbuttered bread whereas my daughter’s pancakes were stunning. They really went the extra mile. Homemade jam and cream, edible flowers, tones of purple, really outstanding. Why couldn’t they put a salad or add a little color on the jasper plate?
I asked for eggs over medium and they were really fried, hard.
Will definitely go back because when I asked for butter and jam for my bread they responded quickly and I think there is talent and potential here.
If all plates had the level of attention that the pancakes had, this place could be a serious contender for the area and give Fraser cafe a run for its money
Consistency is key here.
