“They close very early here on weekends (7 pm!). The fries were hard, overdone and cold. The staff seemed disorganized perhaps due to a large order they were filling. The cashier took an order ahead of us and then just left the counter without a word and did not return. Had to wait for another person to come after she noticed the other had left and there was a line of customers. Burger was fine though and the $.99 frosty was good.”

They used to include dolmas in the combo and I miss those but inflation happens and I appreciate them not raising the price of the meal. “I ordered papaya salad that was $16 CAD (usually $10 CAD in USA) and specifically asked for not spicy. It came back Thai fire and was missing the sweet lime taste it's supposed to have. When the server saw I did not eat it, she simply giggled and said Too spicy? There was no offer of another meal or can I get you something else (I would've paid for something else). Not was their an apology or offer of a discount or something free.”

“Our server was absolutely wonderful. Even though they were short-staffed, he remained attentive to each and every table he was responsible for. He was also called to sing happy birthday in the midst of things. The food was extremely flavorful; I loved every bite. The only bad thing I could say was that the price for the quantity was just not worth it. At $40, I was expecting more than 8 strips of chicken breast and 10 pieces of medium-sized shrimp. Just think about it: that's only 4 strips of chicken and 5 shrimps per person. What that meant was I had to literally put one strip per fajita in order to maximize the number of fajitas. Then I had to ration 2 shrimps per fajita -- but I couldn't leave one shrimp all by itself, so the last fajita had 3 shrimps instead. Why could they not give 12 shrimps total?? That way, you could divvy them up evenly between 3, 4, or 6 fajitas depending on your preference. Anyway, I'm not just picking on Lone Star when it comes to value. Practically all restaurants are constantly increasing prices while reducing portion sizes. Eventually, people will just decide not to eat out anymore because it's simply not worth it...”

“Went here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon for some lunch. I had the salami gnocchi and my friend ordered wild mushroom risotto. Both were absolutely delicious. The restaurant was packed and had a great atmosphere, with friendly staff. It turned into more of a liquid lunch with the gorgeous wines flowing. Not too pricey and I guess a drinks bill being larger than the food bill is just a result of ladies that lunch ;) Would definitely go again.”

The club sets the stage for your own personal experience, depending on the event, the musicians, and who you are with. “Little gem tucked away in the industrial area of Kanata North, which I stumbled upon. We arrived around 11:45, and judging by the way it filled up by 12:15, it is both well-known and beloved by those working nearby. It has a decent beer selection, which you would expect from a microbrew, and the beer is quite good - worth making a trip for all on its own. But I was there for lunch, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I had a pulled pork sandwich which, which a tad skimpy on the meat, tasted great. We got a prime spot on the deck, but every table, inside and out, was full by 12:30, so go early in order to get a seat - especially on a nice day.”
