Over priced, probably because it's Stratford. Had fish and chips. They asked if we wanted salt, vinegar or ketchup with the overly salty shoestring fries. While the fish tasted pretty good, it was a bit greasy.
The Outdoor Patio is so beautiful every time I go. I feel like I am somewhere in Europe everytime I sit in their lush green patio. Today I ordered the Keystone Beer which was excellent. I am also a HUGE fan of their fish and chips, brussel sprouts, and sticky toffee pudding. Yummy!
Love the patio ! The food is top notch. Had the Scallop risotto and it was pure perfection. Oh and I can't forget to mention the warm toffee pudding dessert is fabulous!!
We had been to Keystone Alley before we returned last night and unfortunately last night’s dinner didn’t live up to my memories or my expectations. We were greeted warmly by the host and directed to a private table, as I had requested. Our server seemed awkward and not sure in what order to present our orders: did the salad come after the appetizer or did the appetizer come with the entree? Well, no, an appetizer is an appetizer, presented before the entree.
The duck liver mousse was wonderful as was the smoked salmon appetizer. My husband’s beef stroganoff was superb. Here’s my criticism. I ordered scallops (for $45) and what I received was very disappointing: small scallops surrounded and engulfed in risotto. The plate was brimming with risotto! I think there should have been other vegetables or something else! Very disappointing.
We will probably go back, but the server needs training and I won’t get the scallops again.
We had a nice time and almost everything was great. Two reasons for the star deduction. First the outdoor chairs are the least comfortable, poorly designed chairs I've sat in. They are woven plastic, and angled backward so one slips backwards and they are too low for the tables. We asked for cushions and that helped. But the alley seats are the signature seats and we had the impression whoever purchased the chairs never tried sitting in them. Second, the prices are too high. We both had the vegan option which was excellent-- tofu and quinoa-- but it was $24. Should have been $17 at the most. The wine and sticky toffee pudding were both topnotch.
