Square Plates Family Restaurant

This place is hard to find as it is in a residential neighbour hood but it is worth the effort to look closely! It reminds me of my grandmother’s tired looking kitchen but the food is amazing. My daughter had a grilled cheese oozing several kinds of cheese and crisped to perfection accompanied by chip truck french fries.My omelet was beautifully cooked and tender. The home fries and flavoured with onion and have all the lovely crispy bits. The portions are enormous and the value is crazy. I have no idea how they make money charging so little. Best.Breakfast.Ever.

Visited yesterday for lunch for the first time. The food was EXCELLENT and portion sizes were perfect for our hungry family. Our servers Mike and Zayna were wonderful! Very prompt and friendly...they both did a great job! Got to chat with the owner who employs and supports individuals with special needs. As the mom of a son with Autism, this was the icing on the cake for me. Will definitely be back!

Family restaurants of decent quality and value are becoming harder to find and I prefer thse meals to hamburger chains. The owner/proprietor does the cooking always and serving most days. He uses quality products, its properly cooked and served. The soups are home-made stock the old fashioned way - delicious. Lots of spacious tables. Friendly and casual.

Great eggs Benedict with pea meal bacon... so good that I haven't been able to order anything else when I get there. Huge portions for a good price. I'd never had found this place without my mother taking me there; it's kind of in a neighborhood that doesn't have much business. Definitely recommend for a no-nonsense breakfast or lunch.

I met my family here for brunch. We found it to be clean and quiet with ample parking. The food was good and nicely cooked. Unfortunately,this restaurant stated it was gluten-free friendly but clearly it is not. The discussion that ensued on The issue was interesting and I was glad to hear that the cook feels The same way as many of us..There is no reason for Gluten-free baking to be double or more in price and therefore refuses to purchase it and pass on the exorbitant price to th consumer. The cook had no waitress help that day so it was slow. All in all it was good and very reasonably priced, no gluten-free products available.
