Mt Everest Indian Cuisine

Have tried almost all the vegetarian dishes and each one is just perfect! Best Indian restaurant in GTA! Owners and all staff are super friendly.

The Mount Everest is close to home and offers Indian cuisine, one of my favourites. Although I live nearby, this was my first visit.

I dropped in for lunch one day, looking forward to their all-you-can-eat buffet offerings. The place is small and choices are limited, with Butter Chicken and Curry Goat being the only meat choices. The main buffet has only ten choices, with naan, samosas, and soup being included in the ten dishes. There is a smaller station next to the main one, offering shredded cabbage, sauces, and a few limited dessert options.

Unfortunately, I don't know the names of all the dishes but they included cauliflower, chickpeas, green peas, and a couple of other vegetarian dishes. Everything tasted good.

The curry goat, although it tasted good, was oily and could have been cooked a little longer to make it more tender. The gravy appeared to have separated instead of being smooth.

Service was friendly and good, with the used plates being cleared efficiently. Although the choices were limited, it was a good value at ten dollars!

We went for Sunday Lunch.
Loved the food.
If you want to try a slightly different preparation of Indian food, then try this place.
Food prepared in less oil, better gravy and fresh vegetables.
They also have lunch and dinner buffets.

Mount Everest has switched owners a few years ago however it still remains the best Indian food that you can buy in Ajax or Pickering. Their lunch buffet cannot be beat at just over $10. Friendly and kind staff as well.
