California Sandwiches

I have been to this 5950 Dixie Road location a few times over the last 3 years and been mildly concerned about appearance as it often looks untidy and dirty. However, I looked pass this as the food was generally good but this is no longer the case. Quality of food is very poor

My last visit this week I witnessed the blonde lady fake wash her hand. I say fake as washing cannot be less than 10 seconds. The sandwiches also tasted like they were sitting there for a couple hours.

I have been to most of the California locations in GTA and they are all excellent except this one! This Dixie location displays staff that do not practice adequate hygiene, care about food quality or show care in keeping the restaurant clean and presentable.

Steak & cheeses Mini sandwich was still a good size, lots of steak! Good value. Service was brisk and efficient but not really friendly. Bathrooms were to be avoided! So...good for quick, satisfying lunch...then leave!

It's a working class sandwich dive that does the simple things well. They serve Italian sandwiches with great bread, and your choice of meat, red sauce, and vegetables. Cash only, so bring your lunies. I recommend getting extra marinara on the side, as it's quite tasty. The ladies working behind the counter have a quirky sense of humor, so don't take their sass too seriously. Definitely with stopping in if you're nearby at lunch time. Plan to eat in even though the place isn't exactly cozy, as you don't want the sandwich to get soggy.

Very good veal sandwiches. The food is well made, however the location may have very long line ups and does not have a working urinal. Besides that, good food!

This place was very busy at lunch, but the ladies were fast and efficient. Veal sandwich was great!

One caveat: they do not accept credit cards. Cash an debit only.

The portion size was great but was not as good as expected from other referrals. The Deluxe one was more tasty with the lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise than the marinara veal sandwich. A coworker wanted to try the marinara and regretted his choice after. Hopefully they make the sauce better for future customers.
