Ordered Fish Soup Rice Noodle for take out. The side dish of pork chop tastes good. Love the fish soup too.
Always a wait here! Reservations were made for a party of 10 for 6:00P.M. Even though arriving on time, we unfortunately still had to wait an additional 40 minutes to be seated... Prices are reasonable and decor is nice. Service and the food was not up to par though... We most likely won't be returning - there are much better Chinese restaurants around.
Went here for a family reunion. I didn’t know what to expect because it is in the middle of a shopping center. We had reservations thankfully because it was packed. Restaurant has a cool vibe but was starting to show its age. The food was awesome. Portions are pretty big and everything was well prepared. Food came out fast but we weren’t rushed like at other Chinese restaurants. Restaurant was lively but we were still able to converse without screaming over the hustle and bustle going around. I can see why my family regularly frequent the place. I cannot wait for my next visit so we can eat there again!
Let’s start off by saying I love Congee Queen, but they have many issues that need to be solved. I have dined at the Mississauga location many times with my family and the reason it is such a popular spot is obvious. The food is truly exceptional with an impressive list of delicious dishes listed in the menu. The decor is also spectacular, a stunning space for the lively restaurant.
Unfortunately, the issues with this restaurant are also obvious. Huge crowds of people stand in the foyer pushing to get to the host, trying to hear the numbers being called and breath down the host’s neck to see their place in the queue. Having been a hostess in the past, I truly feel sorry for them. Luckily, there are many easy solutions to these problems, such that they choose to implement them.
Firstly, putting up barriers beside the front desk to close it up and only allow employees into the space would make a huge difference for the workers. As a former hostess, I understand how incredibly stressful it can be to handle all your responsibilities, and it doesn’t help when customers arge e invading your personal space. Another suggestion to help mitigate the insane congestion at the desk is to invest in one or two monitors that will show the number of the guests being seated next. This will help to reduce the number of guests surrounding the desk, ultimately relieving stress for the customers and the strain on the host’s vocal chords from trying to scream over the noisy restaurant.
To conclude, I would highly recommend Congee Queen for delicious Cantonese cuisine. Just be ready for the crazy wait, especially if you are going at peak times!
Nice interiors. Decor. Good good. Fabulously busy. Crowded. Feels like a busy airport. Can’t do a quiet evening. But if you are looking for some good Chinese food, lots of variety etc this is the place. No great bar or wines.
