There aren't many dim sum places left in the GTA that still have staff push around carts loaded with dim sum treats. Emerald Chinese Restaurant is still one of these places.

Located in a plaza at the southwest corner of Hurontario St & Eglinton Ave W, you'll find a large but very busy parking lot.

We were seated immediately. We watched as meal carts rolled by all the while staff announced what they had.

Our whole dim sum meal consisted of small ($2.99. per), medium ($3.99 per), large ($4.99 per), special ($6.69 per), and deluxe ($7.69 per) treats totalling 44 items for $285.45 tax & tip included.

Emerald charges $1.99 per person for tea; we have 16 in our party.

The service and food was good. The decor was nice. Restrooms were clean.

My friends and I have tried this place and I liked the dishes they served. In terms of cleanliness and atmosphere this restaurant is decent. It felt a little but crowded but it wasn't too bad. The staff are nice, though. I'd come back again to try more of their dishes!

One of the few original authentic and enduring Chinese restaurants left in the western GTA area since as far back as 3 decades. Wait staff is attentive with low turnover. Great dim sum offerings and portion sizes are generous. Dining room is large and suitable for large family gatherings or can be portioned off for private events.

A good enough place for dim sum. It can be very busy by noon over the weekend and have a long line up. Dim sum is good. If you like to have lunch and dinner, it is quite reasonable as well. Relative speaking, it is not expensive.

We have shrimp dumplings, deep fried dough, sticky rice, congee and they are family's favourite.

You can go across the street for some Chinese grocery or next door for bubble tea.
