Yin Ji Chang Fen

A small, cozy Hong Kong style congee and rice roll (Chang fen) diner that pretty much exclusively serves only those items. With such a narrow menu, it just means everything is super fresh and well attended to by the chef. Unlike your typical dim sum places which serves previously prepared and quite likely frozen rice noodle rolls, this place is EXTREMELY fresh. The rice noodle is thin, delicate and has a very smooth texture. Fillings range from the lone vegetarian one (think veggie spring roll filling), to fish, shrimp, beef, pork and bbq pork. We tried almost all of the ones on the menu and super happy to say they were jam packed with FULL SIZE fillings (eg: the bbq pork was full slices instead of your typical shreds at dim sum) and the congee to accompany these was super clean tasting. Topped with fresh cilantro and green onion, all of the congee options were silky smooth (a good sign of lovingly simmered rice in plenty of stock) and the toppings weren't skimped upon. While compared to Congee Queen, the options aren't as high end, they Re done simple and well. Pricing is also very cheap at anywhere between $10-$15 for a medium sized meal with a rice noodle roll dish and a congee. Accepts cash and debit only. Parking can be tight due to the proximity to No Frills so be prepared to walk slightly. Highly recommended if congee and rice rolls are you comfort foods. Would definitely go back.

Absolutely love this place, the food is so fresh and delicious, service is fast and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is very small so it’s not ideal for big groups and can only seat a small amount of people.

Located in a convenient location, food is good, specialized in Cantonese small eats, I just hope their Chang Fen (steamed rice roll with your choice of ingredient) wrapped better and not so big so we can share a plate easier. Taste is good though!

Such a great place! Loved the rice rolls, so delicious and craving it again... definitely get the egg add on. Price is super reasonable. Love their focus on just congee and rice rolls. Yummy!!!

I have to say this was the best Chang Fen place I’ve been to in Mississauga. Very friendly staff and excellent service!! Their hot chilli oil is great too! There was also a very good looking staff behind the counter ????
