“Hands down the best Jamaican food I’ve had in a while. Very well spiced, delicious and affordable. The jerk pork had run out when we got there but they promised to save us some the following day, and they kept their promise! Wish I had stayed in Toronto longer to try other foods they served. “Don't expect too much from this place. This is a low-end restaurant which we just go for a quick dine-in or take out. They are open late so you can go for even a cup of tea. Lots of cab drivers and people who work late shifts come here for quick in and out. We have only ordered Nihari and Nan from here and, though expensive, they are good. Cleanliness can definitely be better but as mentioned, do not to expect too much.”

“Nice place to have delicious fresh pak cakes and egg all day. About the staff I would say best service, nice, polite and helpful staff. It was our(my wife) first time there and the lady explained everything in detail whatever we asked for. About food, the pan cakes were very delicious and we also ordered egg. I would recommend to visit this once and experience the delicious breakfast all day.”

“As much as I love Tarboosh (I have been here at least 5 times), this latest visit was not a shining example. We had an incredibly indifferent waiter who didn't speak a word, and the table and the plates were dirty. When I brought back a dirty plate to them for another, they said they would replace it, with no apology whatsoever. We ordered the food, received it in a decent amount of time, and as always, it was excellent. The lamb skewer was perhaps a bit overdone, but everything is so flavourful and tasty that you don't even notice. The meat skewers and rice are fantastic, particularly the chicken. And their baklava is simply to die for. And when we were finished, we waited . . . forever. No water refills, no checks on how we were doing after the meal. So, food: five stars. Service: 1. I hope this is addressed in the future.”

“I ordered delivery via DoorDash and I got Chicken Fried Rice. I asked for no veg and extra egg and honestly it was one of the best fried rice dishes I’ve ever had! Massive portion too! “I had to visit Mario's as my new favourite spot for Portuguese chicken is closed on Mondays. I was really disappointed with the lack of portions offered especially when you spend $94 on take out for a small gathering to celebrate my father's birthday. Safe to say I will stick with my new Portuguese BBQ causechicken soot. The sides are always overflowing...way better value! Felt ripped off especially for a Portuguese restaurant who are know for big portions. All the best Mario's BBQ chicken.”
