Garden Hong Kong Cafe 嘉頓茶餐廳

Cozy cafe in the T&T plaza. We went at a good time so we got the last available table but people were constantly coming in and waiting. Our server spoke English quite well. The food came pretty fast; I was surprised. I guess it's partly because it is quite small, they need to turn over the tables in a timely manner.
In terms of the food, it was pretty standard for a HK style cafe and fairly priced. I thought the French Toast with Salted Egg Yolk was a unique menu item. I would recommend giving this a try. It's a great dish to share. It may be a bit much for one person as it is quite heavy.
The only con is that it is pretty small - basically all the tables are near the door. There's a chilly breeze every time someone comes in. As a result, my hot milk tea didn't stay hot for very long. I also had to keep my scarf on during the entire meal.

Good menu; wait time is too long. This cafe has only 24 seats and food preparation time is not fast enough. Customers always have to wait outside. Its menu provides some exciting choices that other HK style cafes don't have. But the tastes of food doesn't warrant to come the second time; especially for such a long overall wait time.

The food is reasonably priced and the milk tea is the best I've had in Toronto. Most of the staff there are friendly. The food selection is not as extensive as larger Hong Kong style cafes and can only accommodate around 30 guests, so arrive early to avoid a lineup. Also, I would suggest improving the ventilation system as there is a strong frying smell inside the restaurant, which gets absorbed into your clothes and hair.

Excellent Hong Kong cafe food and drinks. Will definitely come back!! We came for afternoon tea. Place was packed. But food came very fast. Very friendly staff too.

Food is alright with reasonable prices. However, it's way too long time to just serve a beef macaroni in tomato soap.., it's 1/2 hour waited, (even 3 pm with not full house). Hay, this is 茶餐廳，suppose to serve fast and renew customer in a short period of time. That's also results too long wait for a table too. If you are in a hurry, don't even try.
