Funky modern decor, comfortable seating, fun energetic youthful vibe, good food especially the roast chicken and a decent live band make for a unique evening out for Chinese dining and entertainment (it's not really for a family with young kids nor is it a budget dining venue). Splurge a little and have fun with your friends!
This music restaurant chain from China has decided to land upon the town of Markham. I found the decor really warm and cozy, but a lot of fake plants unfortunately. The menu was really interesting with a variety of food from northern part of China.
The signature pork boiled pork blood cur in chili soup was absolutely delicious with a lot of chili peppercorn.
There were also other spicy dishes like the flame fired crispy eggplant which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. But oh my, just skip the fried organic cauliflower with Chinese bacon, it was a missed for me as there was not much flavours in the cauliflowers.
As for the house special roast chicken was good with crispy chicken skin and meat still quite tender. The spicy powder was just an added bonus. For the drink, I ordered the mock mojito which was totally disappointing, just skip in.
There was also a group game that we all played as a group and the top prize was a bottle of red wine.
The music group that sang there was also pretty good. It would be worth you time to check this place out if you love live music.
I really enjoyed the ambience and vibe from this restaurant. The interior decor of this place was quite impressive. From the ornate wooden tables to the pretty hanging lanterns, I simply loved the decorations. On top of that, they have a stage where performers will sing, all while you eat! I thought that was pretty cool.
Food tastes above average. Very nice renovation, feels like Chinese version of Rainforest Restaurant. Live music is definitely the selling point but lack of good singers and always boring music makes u either want to sleep or you can't hear what they are singing. A good singer or good band music would fire up the atmosphere but still haven't find that on my third visit. Service is good. With above said, I should get a good vibe by dining here but I did not. Not that I not enjoyed but just it could be a much more satisfied experience. I think they really need to hire some good singers.
Definitely a different experience for me, a friend took me there so I could experience a 'real' Chinese restaurant. Some of the dishes sounded exceptionally exotic so after ordering the spicy fried shrimp I left all decisions to him. The food came out quickly, and after a little bit of hesitation, I dug right in... everything was delicious. I will avoid trying to name the dishes so as not to butcher their names. The atmosphere and decor was incredible with the crowd participating in sing-alongs and games in between a karaoke performer on stage. the staff was very attentive and helpful all in all a great experience and I can't wait to go back.
