Coppi

Excellent all around. Truffles and risotto were exceptionally good.

Last night I brought a good friend to Coppi for some authentic Italian cuisine. I hadn't been there in years and was pleased to see some familiar faces there to greet me. The decor is still warm and inviting, as are the waiting staff. Thank goodness the classic menu has not changed much over the years either. They focus on Italian tradition and quality, and named after 'Il Campionissimo' Italian cyclist Fausto Coppi, The food is carefully prepared with quality ingredients, (not overdressed), just like we do in Italy. So if you're looking for Italian fusion cuisine (and there are a lot of restaurants in Toronto that cater to that), this is not the place for you. The risotto is still made on request as per tradition (no pre-cooking) and served in an authentic Parmigiano Reggiano wheel for maximum taste. Everything we ordered last night was beautifully served. With so many new restaurants popping up and claiming to be the best authentic Italian, it is so nice to see Coppi has stood the real test of time.

Excellent service, delicious food. Love the convenience of Valet parking since it's so hard to find parking in that area. Prices are on the high side but the entire experience makes it worth it. I would definitely go back. Thank you for a delicious meal!
