Definitely a locals bar and keep your expectations low. Having said that, a very friendly bartender with excellent service, friendly cook staff, and the people around the bar shared friendly thoughts of sports highlights and politics! Definitely look forward to returning

    Cold beer and good wings.

This place holds some "family history" significance so we visit here at least once -- sometimes twice -- a year. It's a typical corner bar-type spot with lots of locals hanging out and enjoying the game. The decor probably hasn't changed much in a few decades, but that's part of the charm. The food was plentiful and very enjoyable, but the absolutely most amazing and pleasant and impressive part was the service! ONE waitress served the bar and the dining room floor and she was a total superstar. She took the orders, served the food and drinks, delivered the bills and took the payments. She hustled the entire time we were there and managed to keep a great attitude and stayed attentive, even to our table of 12. I only wish I knew her name so I could give her proper credit. The downstairs bathrooms might be a challenge for some, but otherwise, we had a great evening and will be back there again for sure. Cheers!

My family and I go here twice a year to remember my uncle who passed away. I am new to this tradition but since I've been going, the waitresses are always kind and funny, warm and welcoming.
It just seems like no matter who you are or where you're from, once you enter the doors of The Markland, we're all on level ground, we all are welcomed the same way. It seems like a little, happy place that you can hide from the world for a while.
Cool to see the regulars at the bar and know that they've found their place.
We'll see you again in September!
