Dagu Rice Noodle Waterloo

Can't say anything about peak hours, but I went there for lunch on Sunday and the service was pretty quick. The waiter refilled or water jug without asking.

Food wise, the noodles were pretty good. But the base doesn't come with much meat so prepare to order some extra. Keep in mind that you have unlimited refills for noodles, so just ask the waiter. So if you're looking to walk out full, this is your place.

My girlfriend and I would come here several times a week for the rice noodle. We loved eating here. Recently they renovated and now only offer the noodle soup from 11:30 until 3. The hours are very limited and those that work 9-5 can’t have the noodle soup anymore during the week. This is very disappointing.

After months of doubt, I decided to give this place a try and ordered a take out on sour spicy flavored crossing the bridge rice noodle soup with beef slice. Surprisingly, the food was quite good and portion was generous. Loved the free toppings which makes the dish so much more interesting as you discover new items every scoop of the bowl. There could be a bit more beef slices but well, that probably where the profit lies. I was confused by the low rating so going over the reviews, it seems that most of the complaint was service. I can't speak for the service as I ordered a take out. But if you enjoy a good hearty noodle soup, I definitely recommend this place as its food quality is among the top in the plaza.

Despite the low ratings, I wanted to give this place a try! It seems like they really took the feedback to heart because when we arrived on Thursday evening, we were seated immediately and tended to quite well. They were more than well staffed, with people walking around to refill water, grab more napkins or answer questions about the menu.

The noodles and soup was absolutely delicious. The portion was huge too, we couldn’t finish it and had to take some home. The appetizers were just alright, not sure if I’ll get that again. I really enjoyed the cheese drink though! I got the Cheese Strawberry and it was really neat, sweet and tea-like, but my partner wasn’t a fan.

They actually screwed up and brought the wrong bowl of soup to our table. They brought out the correct one within minutes of us alerting them, and of course, they didn’t charge us for the mishap.

All in all, it seems like they cleaned up their act. Our experience at Dagu certainly wasn’t what you’d expect a “2.2” restaurant to be like.
