Chalet Bar-B-Q

This place has by far the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life!! And I’ve been coming here all my life! I live in Ottawa and always make a point to stop by when I’m in Montreal. I believe I was only 3 when I first ate at this magnificent restaurant. My mother is from Montreal and has been eating at this restaurant for her entire life as well! My grandparents ate here for the majority of their life! This restaurant means a lot to my family. The food here hasn’t changed one bit. It’s as delicious as ever. The rotisserie chicken is unbelievably well cook, every time. When you walk in and sit down in this restaurant it really takes you back (that could just be me because I’ve been eating here my whole life). I will never stop coming to this restaurant.
The food is absolutely wonderful, the prices are fantastic, the staff are all friendly. One big reason I wish I lived in Montreal is this restaurant. I’m sitting in Ottawa right now drooling for Chalet Bar-B-Q chicken.

Always the same. ALWAYS EXCELLENT. 1/4 Chicken Breast w/ fries & coleslaw, fountain diet Pepsi. Dessert: Apple Pie (warmed up) ice cream & coffee. Winner Winner... Chicken Dinner. $26 (w/ taxes)

I haven't been here in over 30 years. Food was 100% perfect. It hasn't changed. Our waitress was super pleasant. I will be going back hopefully soon.

Authentic chalet style chicken served... just like the original Swiss Chalet and St Hubert chicken dinners.

Food is great. Service is good, but environment needs improvement... customer are crammed into booths (six into booth for four)... management should consider increasing elbow room with larger dining area so customers can be more comfortable.

So this is a Montreal classic, can’t argue with how great the food is been around since 1944. You know what your getting into amazing chicken not dry gravy is on point portions are good sized and reasonably priced. Now having said all that, at times it feels like it’s a restaurant from the 40’s. The cups of water are super small the place is always filled with old people. At times a little slow. Still a great place would recommend. Just can’t give it a perfect score.
