Chocobel is a chocolate store that prides itself on handmade chocolates and ice cream flavors that would be difficult to find elsewhere, especially in Montreal where buying good chocolate is synonymous with paying a good chunk of the price of a plane ticket to Belgium. The prices practiced here are just as brutal as in any of the other good chocolate stores in Montreal, but you can indulge your guilt occasionally, just as long as you don't do it too often.

J'ai visité et aimé chaque instant où j'étais là!
My first time in Montreal, I was in college and too wrapped up with other things, instead of enjoying moments like this.
This time around, years later, I discovered the delectable world of artisan chocolates at Chocobel.

The woman running the store reminded me of my former Frech teacher from grade school as she rattled off the kinds of chocolates she offered. The shop was not big, but intimate enough one could share a treat and have a nice conversation out of the weather, as my friend and I did. The service was warm and inviting, as she explained in French, and English, about the difference in her chocolates...and the chocolates were scrumptious!

Great treats at decent prices, I will make it a point to visit again.????

    Really delicious chocolate.
I love the tanzanie chocolate. A nice rice dark slightly bitter taste..... delish.
I'm waiting going to try their famous soft ice cream soon and I'll give an updated review.
They have great friendly service welcoming us with a big smile.
What is there not to love.
Go check it out. Lots of great gift ideas too.

The owner here is a confection guru. Truly someone that has mastered their passion into craft and delicacies so decadent, they're worth the extra months at the gym.

You won't find any "light" treats here, oh no, this is full-bore, all-out debauchery at its finest.

The "artist" here takes tremendous pride in his work, using only the finest ingredients, he carves them into shapes so elaborate, Michelangelo would be proud. You can order a smaller sample a nibble, a morsel, but it will be a rich experience and leave you wanting more. The popular draw here is the soft ice cream with loads of topping options, all made from fresh ingredients. Try a strawberry or blueberry sundae with the soft, vanilla ice cream, he uses fresh local berries, without adding piles of sugar. It's among the best you will ever have. Everything here is carefully crafted with passion and care.

If you're a local, you know there are other options in the area but Chocobel has the goods. For someone that isn't a sweet tooth, this place is hard to pass up. Chocobel is one of the spots that makes this area so fantastic.

If you're visiting, this is a great spot to grab some beautiful gifts. Forget all those "top-brand" chocolate makers, this is the real deal.
