Great local restaurant! I love the vibe and the good food.I've actually discovered Tetreaultville because of this place and I'm glad I did. The menu is quite simple, which I like, and the poutine is awesome and the chicken is great. I also like the caesar salad. There are occasional lineups but the food is well worth the wait and it's affordable.
The best. The chicken. The ribs. The sauces. Whatever else is on special. The cocktails. The best. Worth the hike out there. I can't recommend it enough.
+++ Very tasty chicken and ribs.
+++ Quick service.
+++ Warm, home-style atmosphere.
+++ Surprisingly extensive wine selection...
--- ...But no microbrews.
Le Coq de l'Est remixes the traditional chicken-fries-coleslaw formula with a spicy Indian twist. It's about as straightforward as it gets: the restaurant makes delightful food, full stop. And it does so without falling into the trap of over-fancying the experience.
Regular chicken is so so, Portugese and Jamaican jerk chicken are great BUT, Le Coq is a whole different beast. Tandoori style chicken with a kick. This is a must try folks. Wherever you live, it's worth the drive. I PROMISE, you will not be disappointed. Friendly staff as well.
Wow - what an eating experience. The chicken and ribs were incredible - like nothing I've had before. The fries were amazing. Excellent cocktails. And a price that makes it all worthwhile. For those living downtown or on the west end of Montreal, definitely worth the trip. Easier with a car, transit takes a while.
