Mommy's Fish N Chips

Sometime earlier this month I visited this establishment which I first visited with my father back in 1974. I had openned two years earlier. I have never made a habit of eating heavily grease laden food - though that day I was really looking for some comfort food and this just happened to be the place after have walked about six or seven kilometres before arriving in the vicinity I walked through the door. The place kindled a lot of pleasant memories.

Amazing food. It's really sad that the place gets bought and sold often because it's a staple of Lachine culture.

Excellent fish and chips. It does take a bit of time to get your food (made fresh but be ready to wait for 10 minutes). I find they are not always open at the hours they post so definitely have a backup plan but make this your first stop if you're in the mood for some fried food. Fish: excellent, fries: ok, coleslaw: good.

Small, quaint and very homey. This place boast itself as a restaurant which serves up traditional English style fish and chips. They also have nice big onion rings in case you don't want fries with that.

Recommended : fisherman's plate for newcomers. You will be able to try all of their signature seafood items.

Shrimp, scallops, fish and calamari all in one plate topped with red seafood sauce, tartar sauce and coleslaw.
