Gîte et Café-Bistro de la Tour

Quaint little place with a lot of character. Good food and drink.

Friendly service, good food for once different from large chains or "cantine" stops. I enjoyed looking at the numerous artifacts added by the owner; they complete the warm atmosphere of the house. We eated outside with our 3 kids and our new puppy.

This gite was just wonderful! The place is immaculate and impeccably decorated. The breakfast which came with the room was delicious and beautifully presented. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Price was very reasonable in the off season.

The location is good, very convenient just off the bridge and the main road. The owner couple were friendly. But as a B&B, it's nothing special; and for the price, I expected better! Definitely not going back.

I particularly didn't care for two things:

1. Polyester bathrobes. Really, how much more could cotton ones cost?!

2. Breakfast was all packaged stuff, not freshly made! The oranges tasted like sawdust! The "B" is a key part of a B&B, so any B&B without fresh homemade breakfast is not that much higher than a motel, in my book. I don't understand how some reviewers could claim the breakfast was great. It's just not true.
