“I love A&W root beer. So this place will always not rate below 3 for me. Their onions rings burgers fries are good too.”

“I thought it was okay. The fries were very crunchy rather then crispy. The flavour of the fries was good however and they did not seem overcooked so I think they just do crunchy fries here. The gravy in my poutine was delicious, but theykind of just poured it all on the middle of the plate and the fries on the edge were dry without any gravy. Service was great, flavour was great, but I did not love the crunchy fries.”

“Great spread and and overall great tasting food for the weekend brunch. Only negative is that dishes are not very quickly replenished. Might have to do with staff shortage which is hellish for restaurants. Oh and side dish of hollandaise sauce might be a good add-on or served as a side as it tends to soak the muffins too much. Or serve grilled muffins ham and eggs separate so people could have poached eggs .then people could make their own benedictine egg or one with smoked salmon and spinach as those are available in the buffet.”

This is one of my favourite restaurants and my family is always begging to go back whenever they come visit me in Quebec.

“Traditional Québécoise cuisine YES but NOT poutine !!! Tip: go ahead and come back to talk about it! This restaurant is unconventional, it should talk to you a little before: - If you want to discover, rediscover or simply enjoy authentic cuisine as did the old Quebec grandmothers, - If you're not afraid to go out of beaten paths (restaurant on 1 ° Avenue), to sit at a family table in a good franquette atmosphere, Chez Madame Charlotte is the right address. I had the pleasure of discovering and rediscovering local dishes such as shepherd's pie or dumplings stew accompanied by homemade soup made from tasty local and organic products and home-made pastries. Good quality food and friendly. The service is family friendly and the owners seem to like what they do and share it. The card is centered on a few dishes, enough to find one's pleasure and according to the evolving owners depending on the seasons and the fresh produce available. Finally a restaurant that offers traditional local dishes at affordable prices. I hope that in the future, they will be able to offer some drinks other than water. Finally, it's true that at my grandmother's, there is always only water! :-) Approximate price: starter + main course + dessert + coffee / tea = 18 $ I will return with pleasure and soon to discover the other dishes on offer. I hope you find it useful ;-)”

“I found this secret unknown little place to locals (A guy told me he lived on the same street than the restaurant and it took him 2 years to notice it) that is mostly visited by South American people. It is as small as it is delicious. The chef puts emphasis on quality over anything. It has a small menu but everything is exceptional and incredibly fresh. Their Churros can't taste any fresher and their empanadas give you a taste of heaven. Don't forget their awesome seafood soup. The prices are pretty reasonable and the owner (Carlos) is a really nice guy. You MUST try it, but don't tell anyone, it's a secret ;) .”

“Having previously visited a Mikes before, I knew to expect good quality food, quick and efficient service and reasonable prices. We were not disappointed, it was perfectly acceptable as an eatery following 11 hours on planes! I had the lasagne primavera which I recommend to those wanting something hearty in the cold weather. My partner has a meaty pizza which was tasty, if slightly overfilled with toppings. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone just looking to fill tummies rather than splashing out somewhere more expensive or upmarket.”

“Great and delicious food. The host (I believe also the owner) didn't speak much English but you could tell he puts love into it, he was so nice. Menus are only in French, but a translation app will help, please do not let that's discourage you. The owner also can help! Don't let the older decor fool you because this place was amazing. We would definitely visit again if we return to Quebec City. Thank you!”

“Excellent food for a great price!!! I had the soup of the day, zucchini and mint, the veggie sandwich and a blueberry cheesecake, yes, little miss piggy. It was so delicious, everything, I will be back! It’s much more affordable and more flavourful than the restaurant that was there before. Thanks!!”

“The service was excellent at Vietnam Express. Food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I have had a lot of Vietnamese food back in Toronto, the dishes are amazing in comparison. We ordered three different dishes, all phenomenal. Prices are reasonable as well.”
