My husband and I visited this lovely restaurant last weekend and were pleased with everything we tried. The seafood gumbo was some of the best I have ever had. So many good choices that we over ordered just to be able to sample lots of items. Definitely will go and worth the hike from Spanish Fort.
My friend and I had lunch here today. The onion rings and fried shrimp are the best. Really enjoyed the meal. The service was also very good. Will definitely be back.
Amazing food
We enjoyed a late lunch at the Delta Grocery Restaurant on Saturday and will definitely be back! Our fried green tomato appetizer was absolutely delicious, and we both had their fabulous crabcakes with gouda grits and a salad. All of the food was hot and perfectly prepared, and our server, AC, was as sweet and attentive as could be. We are so happy to have this wonderful option for great food in a friendly, casual atmosphere!! Welcome to the neighborhood, DGR!!
Last night we had dinner at the new Delta Restaurant Grocery and Bar on Hwy 98 where the Blue Marlin used to be. First, ya gotta Google them to see why the word “Grocery “ is in the name as there are no groceries there. Despite the unusual name, the food was excellent! BEST fried green tomatoes we ever had! The dinner salad is better than the usual boring iceberg lettuce on a plate. I had the 2 Crab Cakes which were pretty much all real, fresh crab, not your typical cakes that has more breading than crab. My husband had the fried shrimp and we both chose the Smoked Gouda Grits for our side and they were way better than I make. The owner, Mr. Halloway, (hope I spelled that right) checked on us at our table and mentioned his family all work there. Since we live in Bay Haven we’re already talking about what day this we’re planning on going back for more tomatoes! If they can keep up the quality and great service, it’ll be hard to get a reservation, so please, go now before the word spread.
Also, our waitress, “AC”, aka Anna Claire, topped off our great meal with her pleasant smile! I hope our community supports this family owned business so we can try everything else on the menu!! Thank you Halloway family! We look forward to dinner next week!!
