Down South Barbeque

Went today for the first time and the guy at the window was super nice. He told me how this place was his grandmother’s and honestly it didn’t disappoint. The sides were quite yummy( I highly recommend the beans). The sliced brisket was so tender and apparently the smoked sausage was equally tasty , my husband didn’t say much while eating!! We will be back , food and customer service was outstanding!!!

Great menu, good prices, and made me like brisket. But the must have is certainly the BBQ Baked Potato..... starchy heaven! Only two minor complaints- 1 they are only open limited days 2 no credit cards means I have to remember to get cash. Overall these will never cause me to stop eating here as they smoke like others could only dream of doing!

Best southern food ever. Highly recommend. And the employee s rock. One of the only reasons I would visit alabama again.

Fantastic food! I had the brisket, she had pulled pork. Both were excellent, as were the sides (green beans and potato salad). They have basic covered outdoor seating which included high chairs, so that was helpful as well.

Alabama does pork really well. The pulled pork was good but the ribs were the star. The beef was underwhelming but I still give this place five stars because coming to Gulf Shores from Texas I have high expectations for my brisket and realize pork is the star in this part of the country.
