“Great place for seafood not so much for people who don’t like seafood. I got the burger instead of the steak because the steaks cost so much but I regretted it. The burger was not great and I’ve heard their steaks are amazing. So if you are going to Spend the money while on vacation this is the place. My family all said this was the best place we ate at locally for seafood. It was fresh and cooked to perfection. This was the second time we ate here over the years. They give good portions. A local favorite when we come down.”

“My friend and I desired a wonderful seafood experience while vacationing in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We asked a few local people where to find the best food with a friendly atmosphere, we were pointed in the direction of The Flying Harpoon. Upon arrival, we were greeted as soon as we stepped out of our car by a gentleman who made us feel more than welcome. The atmosphere of this quaint spot was spot on for what we were looking for. The food was amazing and reasonably priced as well. If you are looking for the best shrimp, crab and crab cakes in Gulf Shores, Alabama, then head over to The Flying Harpoon!”

“Came all the way from OB to try this place. Was good but not as great as I anticipated. I didn't enjoy the meat as much - felt like the quality was VERY inconsistent. i.e. Some were still on the bone, some were in little pieces, some were chewy, some were lean, others you can't even chew or swallow, etc. As far as the flavor, I think it was more traditional but was way too onion-y for me.”

“We ate dinner at the Pier House on Saturday evening and it was spectacular! The red fish was so tasty and beyond flavorful! The presentation was excellent. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxing and calming. The service was a tad slow, but with only being open a week, we gave them a break. The prices are on the higher end, but you truly pay for what you get. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area looking to grab a fancier bite to eat! I will absolutely be back!”

“Visited when the business first opened and have now returned again. They've really stepped it up! They've expanded everything...coffee selections, breakfast lunch and dinner foods, gelato and desserts, gift shop. Some reviewers report slow service, but mine was quick. Prices on the Starbucks side, but to be expected. Definitely recommend! Our meals were the sunrise bowl $8.99 and garden omelette $12.99. As for the Sunrise bowl it was biscuits and gravy topped with pepper gravy and two over easy eggs. The only chef recommendation that I would make is to add sausage chips to the gravy and ensure the eggs are cooked firmly. As for the Garden Omelette it was 3 eggs full of veggies and cheese served with toast and a large bowl of fresh fruit. It was excellent.”

“I had been wanting to try a Lobster Roll for a while now, but can't get it where I live. I saw their sign and gave it a try. Very glad I did. “My daughter and I had been walking around the Wharf for a few hours and got a bit famished. We decided to stop at The Southern Grind Coffee House for a bite to each. I ordered a burger with mozzarella cheese. It was really good. Caught me by surprise. Didn't expect such a delicious burger from a coffee house. Also had a strawberry banana smoothie and it was also really good. Would definitely go back.”

“The daquiris here are delicious! They also have beer and a fairly well stocked bar. There are a few shooter specials, too. I highly recommend adding the extra shot for a few dollars more and then taking your drinks with you(you can leave with them here) for a stroll through the shops. At night they put on a light and music show through the area and it was very enjoyable. This will become a regular visit on our return trips to Gulf Shores.”
