In town for business and decided to try Top of the River and really had a great experience. Our server Khadeeja was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I had the combo with the ribs and catfish and fries and I like the wide variety of choices on the combo. The sauce with the ribs not very thick but it was tasty, the catfish was fresh and the batter nice and crunchy. I wasn’t a fan of the cornbread but I did enjoy the coleslaw that was served when we first sat down. Will definitely return before I leave for Texas.
One of the best seafood restaurants in the state of Alabama. Great food and top notch service from our waitress KeKe. She took time out to explain the menu and answer all of our questions. We order the largest seafood platter along with a choose two dinner. The food was outstanding.
The food was absolutely amazing! Love the complimentary cornbread, greens and coleslaw. Miya was a great waitress. She was patient, attentive and very friendly. I will be eating there again.
It has been over 7 years since I been back to this place. My last visit was so bad that I said I would never go back. For this visit a family member waited to eat here so I went. I will say this visit was much better. The food was good and the poor server did a good job with all of us there. I hope she did not have to share her tip. She deserves all of it we left.
I went to this place to try something different. If you are a true southern food lover, this is the place for you. While it was good, I am not a southern food person. Plenty of options, but most are fried. Also primarily a seafood restaurant. Had complimentary cornbread, pickled onions, and coleslaw instead of bread. I ate ribs which were good but not great. Again, this is for southern food lovers and not someplace I would want to go again for the food. The service and the staff was excellent however. Check out the large catfish too!
