The BBQ shack

Only had catfish, which is what I wanted anyway, so, yea! Very good taste, with perfect amount of cornmeal. Fries were pretty typical crinkle fries. Baked beans were separated from the fries and fish which was a very good idea. So food, I give 3-1/2 stars. I'll edit when I try the BBQ. But, the PEOPLE!! Not just the folks working there, either. The customers were even nice! They came in smiling, speaking to other customers, and one even came left smiling even though they had run out of food until the bbq was ready! THAT says more than anything to me.

The good was excellent. Very hospitable service! Hometown feel! Will definitely come back next time we are up this way!

Driving to Tuscaloosa from Jacksonville, FL and wanted authentic BBQ. This place is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had in my life. Staff was so friendly and sweet. The ribs literally fall off the bone, the baked beans were the best I've ever had. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Stop here trust me it is worth the Detour you will not be disappointed!!

As if the BBQ and the burgers weren't the best in town, they added FISH! Rachel knows how to cook fried catfish in such a way that will have you craving for more!

Great pulled pork, hamburgers & fried okra! Ladies that work there are so sweet, great service.
