Tucked away in Greensboro, Alabama, this Thai eatery is a true find. From the warm welcome to the flavorful Pad Woon Sen (my fave!) every moment here delights. The owners were lovely and service was quick and friendly. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike, promising an unforgettable taste of Thailand in the heart of Alabama.
I was in Greensboro with my mom visiting family, and this restaurant did not disappoint. We were kindly greeted by the owner and a young man who was the waiter/food runner. The owner took time to walk us through the menu, explain his favorite dishes, and offer additional suggestions. After we ordered, his wife (who is also the chef) also came and greeted us. He also shared his story on how the restaurant came to be, and we could tell he has an immense passion for the food and providing people in the area with special culinary service.
The food came out quickly, and was prepared with so much love. Their spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had - full, fresh, and not greasy. The cashew noodles, shrimp Thai fried rice, and pad Thai all came with unique flavors, was extremely filling and tasty! I will be thinking about this food for a while - THANK YOU Ruan Thai for a one of a kind experience!
Delightful stop for lunch with family! Included photos of Thai Fried Rice and Emerald Noodles, both highly recommended and delicious.Other dishes enjoyed were Boat Noodles, Fireworks Noodles, and Pad Thai. Each dish could be customized as to spice level. Most of us chose mild with one brave soul getting Thai hot. Staff was very attentive and polite.
It's a great restaurant with awesome service. The food was very good, the wait time was a little long but it was busy Sunday afternoon. The 2 young gentlemen who waited our tables were very polite and checked on us frequently. We had coconut soup on the house, Thai salad rolls (shrimp), and chicken fried rice.
Such an excellent change from the typical meat & sides or fast food restaurants that crowd our small towns! Food is delicious, appropriate portions & nicely plated. Restaurant space is a little small in downtown Greensboro but not overcrowded.
Hope soon they have a mango sticky rice dessert option because we might be there several times a week!
If I could add a suggestion, it would be to make the seating & ordering clearer. Upon our arrival, we found no signs or immediately available staff to inform us to order at the bar counter & then be seated. Did have to also get your own drinks. Both are fine, just unusual for a sit down restaurant. They just recently opened so still working out the kinks, but we will definitely make the drive again.
