The Toasted Yolk Cafe- Dothan

The service was good (thank you Candace) but the food was not. First off I did have to request that our booth seat be cleaned as it had food on it. Second, menu was dirty (actually had food on it) and torn - I didn't want to touch it. We ordered and our eggs were almost burnt (very brown), biscuit was hard as a rock, Churro donuts super greasy...couldn't eat them - eggs and biscuits were sent back - Biscuits were not replaced until we got ready to leave (took over 20 minutes), bacon was not hot....cheese grits were good. If it weren't for the waitress we would probably not go back.

We visited soon after opening and it is a great place and provides a great brunch. The waitstaff is trained, attentive and upbeat. Our brunch items were well prepared and tasty. It is new and popular so there will be a little wait, which we expected. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend you try it.

Impressed. The atmosphere is bright with a fun pop of color. Everyone was friendly and polite from hostess to server. Our server David was great, the food was phenomenal and portion size is generous, my breakfast burrito was HUGE! Definitely see Toasted Yolk become one of our regular breakfast stops

I was not expecting this level of service since this is their first month of business. We expected some growing pains and were fully prepared for that… We were wrong. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the shrimp and grits which was flavorful and super filling. My husband got the club which was INCREDIBLE. The meat tastes fresh, and the cheese was good quality, but the bread is what really set it apart. They also added a pile of dill pickles next to it that were amazing and went well with the sandwich and in their own. The fries were good quality too and VERY fresh. We didn’t get any drinks this time around, but I look forward to going back soon! The place is well laid out so it seats plenty without feeling cramped, and the colors are bright and cheerful without being childish and retina burning. We did have to wait 30 minutes for a table, but I think that speaks to the quality of the place. It’s a Thursday afternoon in a brand new restaurant. I’ve never seen a wait like that for lunch at any restaurant in Dothan!

Ate at the bar. Very busy place, with 20-30 minutes wait for a table on a Tuesday 1 PM. Ordered biscuits and gravy, and a side of patty sausages. Then had to ask for some extra gravy in order to actually cover my two biscuits. That and a glass of water was $13.00.

The food was good. Staff was really nice, decorum was nice as well. But this must be the most expensive breakfast in town. Lose two stars for value and going skimpy with the gravy for price.

The Toasted Yolk is new to Dothan! I'm skeptic to new restaurants in general because of the online reviews... my parents are regulars already, so I had to give it a try. Today was the second time my children and I visited this establishment. We visited yesterday (our first time) and I was too full to do anything after (the portions are huge)! Toasted Yolk in Dothan, Alabama, gives you that home style diner feel! The wait staff is amazing and the cooks definitely deserve a bonus! lol. The Toasted Yolk did not disappoint! The new brunch spot in Dothan!
