Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill

The food was really good. I had the shrimp and grits ...it was kinda soupy to look at it, but was seasoned so well that once stirred it was fantastic. The place was crowded but the server we had, Jordan,was excellent and personable.

I was very impressed. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was the best seafood gumbo I have had in Birmingham and the shrimp poboy was good. My wife had the blackened fish tacos and was happy. We will go back.

The food here never disappoints and the servers are always attentive. I had the Flounder Roulade this time and it was amazing. My side was fried green tomatoes (I know not exactly in line with the Flounder) and they were perfectly cooked and the sauce is not something you'll find anywhere else. I've been coming here for years and have had just about everything on the menu and haven't found anything I wouldn't order again. If you like Cajun food, or just food, you'll love this place.

Our waitress was beautiful amongst the others.. she had a down to earth natural genuine sweet vibe about her that helped Mom and I pick our food out. I couldn't go wrong with the fish tacos and she had the shrimp po boy. Definitely have to come back for more, yet different choices, to eat. There gumbo was good appetizer to get them buds ah going!

I love finding something different, especially when I travel and get a chance to discover a place that's farther from home. Cajun Steamer is one of those finds. I went for dinner with a group from work, and was quite happy with their selection.

We got the gator bites (fried), which is the first time I recall having alligator. I'd say it's on the chewier side as meats go. I enjoyed it, but the texture might not be for everyone.

I had the Catfish Ponchartrain with Jambalaya, and loved it. They also have a chicken dish with the same stuffing and sauce, which was a popular choice with our group.

In summary: an excellent meal with friendly service, and I would certainly go back again.
