Went on Monday (11/16) at 3:45 in the afternoon. Only 2 other tables that were seated already. It took over 45 minutes to get our food and even then not all of it came to our table together. Two people in our party of 5 ordered shrimp Po'boys and the bread was about 3 days old. It was hard as a rock and completely crumbled to nothing if you tried to pick it up, much less eat it. This was our first experience and we were not impressed to say the least. I got the Parmesan shrimp and grits and they were amazing if that is any consolation! For nobody being there it should not have taken that long and the bread should have been fresh at their price point. No wonder there is always a long wait. Not because of so many people wanting to get in but because it takes so long to get your food. Heard so many great things about this place but not sure I ever want to go back. It has nothing on most places you find at Orange Beach, such as Cobalt's. ?

Overall this place was great. I am a jazz fan and was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and heard John Coltrane playing in the background. If you don't care for jazz don't worry, it is just background music.
The food was awesome, I had the grilled tuna and my wife the grilled salmon. Both were delicious and the sides were also.
They also have an excellent local craft beer selection on tap.
The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable, pleasant to be around.
This is a real restaurant, not fast food, not too slow either. I see a few people complaining that the service was slow. My response to them is that good food has to be prepared, not pulled from a freezer and put in an oven or deep fryer. If you go to a restaurant that serves these types of meals quickly then you can be assured that it was frozen and just re-heated. True dining is an experience to be savored and enjoyed, not rushed.
They got it right, from the staff to the food and the atmosphere.

This is the kind of restaurant you pay for the talent in the cooking. The food quality was A+, the service was a B, the young lady only came at the end of the meal to see if anything else was needed. The food was slow to come out but you can’t blame the wait staff for that. The atmosphere was A, the music was jazz played low but audible, the lighting low but not dark, it was spotless as far as I could tell. The noise level was low from the crowd, it was easy to hear conversation. I had the New Orleans shrimp and grits, fantastic! A bit spicy but I knew that before I ordered it, 3 “cakes” of grits that were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the shrimp…well there were 9 of them, I counted. For $20 I expected a few more shrimp. The salad was great, mixed greens, if it had the iceberg type lettuce I did not see it. Also at the table was an order of crab cakes, very very good! For 3 people, 3 entrees, one appetizer and no booze the bill was $99 and change. My 76 year old mom did not finish her dinner, I did not quite finish mine but my buddy, a big guy, finished his all the way. I will definitely go again.

I understand they are new and adjusting. We arrived around 11:10 for lunch, party of 2. We were told a 5 minute wait, while clearly only a few customers were in restaurant. Hostess’s were very awkward with handling arriving guest. After being seated, we were greeted by a very friendly/knowledgeable waitress. I think I expected food to be better than it was. I guess my expectations were too high. Although not bad, just average. The chocolate dessert was by far the best dish over the pot pie, shrimp, and salad. Will wait a month before returning. Beautiful interior.
