We really enjoyed our meal and the service at The Hound. Lots of yummy dishes to choose from. The Shrimp & Grits are 1 of my favorite versions of this dish. The Hubs had the Pork Chop, man so yummy and flavorful. Good job guys, we'll be back!!
I'm honestly surprised that this place is rated as highly as it is. I travel every single week of the year all over the country, rarely to the same place twice. I eat on the company dime, so I don't discriminate based on price. I've been here several times over the past 6 months, however, and each time has been similar. There is nothing wrong with it, just that the food is simply mediocre. The service has always been very good. The food has been that of an average restaurant, priced as if it were in perhaps San Francisco, New York City, etc. They attempt to be creative but usually miss the mark. You can see what they are trying to do with the food, but also that they aren't skilled enough in the kitchen to make it happen. You pay big city prices, in a small town, for average quality food. If you come for drinks, it's great though. Very good drink selections and priced reasonably for them. Overall, this was probably my last trip here, as the recent addition of the mandatory "Culinary Fee" is simply an insult to the diner. The food is overpriced by plenty to pay for either the mediocre culinary staff, food, or both.
The prices for food sure were high but the experience was absolutely worth it. My family and I loved the environment and the taste of the food. Definitely a must visit in Auburn!
Nice to see that this restaurant is still going strong, many years after I finished school at Auburn. Delicious food, good selection of drinks, still the same intriguing location behind the main strip of downtown Auburn, almost "under" the parking deck. Love to eat at this location every time I return to Auburn.
Very good with gluten free items. Nice atmosphere. Folks friendly. Food was very tasty. Server was very good the manager attentive as well. Very pleasant experience. Highly recommend.
