Mr. PoBoy in Gurley, AL ha the best and most authentic New Orleans style PoBoys in Northern Alabama. The bread is spot-on Crispy outside and soft inside. The shrimp and crawfish were fresh seasoned and fried perfectly. The owner greeted my family at the entrance and opened the door for my mother-in-law. The ambiance to this place is extremely cool and hip for such a small place. You can’t call it a dive restaurant. It’s an eclectic eating treasure. We had three generations of our family for a dinner. They devoured the Po-Boys, relished in the Gumbo, red beans and rice and the jambalaya. The French fries are outstanding. I expect that they are cooked pommes frites style like in Belgium, fried twice. This is a family-owned restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. They will be getting a beer and wine license soon. This well worth the drive to Gurley.

Absolutely fantastic! Can’t thank the owners enough for bringing real, non pretentious, delicious top quality food to our area. Going to be a staple place to eat for my family! Can’t recommend enough 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Mr. PoBoy is a great new addition to the town of Gurley. I was there opening night and while they were slammed with customers the staff did their best to get everyone fed and the food was great. I enjoyed the brisket PoBoy and can’t wait to go back for more.
