G's Country Kitchen

We are here in Huntsville visiting for the weekend and wanted some down home cooking! That’s exactly what we got! The food was absolutely delicious and the employees were AWESOME! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Down home atmosphere, casual & relaxed. Soul food with a country flair. A thick slice of tomato on my plate tasted as if it had just been picked from the vine. Serving collard greens, turnip greens, fried green tomatoes to name a few. Service was friendly and fast. Noise level was low which is of most importance to me. Folks were reading papers or talking quietly.

I enjoyed my first visit to G's Country Kitchen. It was recommended by a friend when asked for a local small restaurant. I didn't know what to expect and was tickled by the sign on the door that says "This is not a fastfood joint" I was true. They were not.
The staff seemed happy to be there, helpful and attentive without being too sweet. I was welcomed and treated like family. I was told the place has been in business for 26 years so they are doing something right.
The server was kind and patient. The food was served in a short time, was visually appealing and tasty. I was not a fan of the cabbage that day, but I know some people who make amazing cabbage and are a tough act to follow.
The portion sizes were reasonable and the price for the amount of food served, the service and the comfort of the dining area were more than worth what was paid.
I will definately be back and with other friends. I can see why they have been in business so long.
My favorite sight was the people in the kitchen laughing with one another a sigh of love in the air.

It was packed. Must mean their food is worth the wait. I got mine to go. Nice people. Can't wait to eat. Decent priced. Will get turkey and dressing again.

We came here for my sweet 16, and I was honestly a little skeptical at first because I've never had good country-style food at a restaurant with a reasonable price, but G's delivered! This place is incredible! The staff even let us bring in a cake and ice cream for my birthday. Also, they did the cutest thing with a to-go box and my new car's key! I will definitely be back. Thank you guys for such a great experience.
