We visited here for dinner and they were packed! The line was to the back of the restaurant, but they were very efficient and it moved quickly. Every employee we talked to was extremely nice and friendly. We ate on the outside patio which is absolutely beautiful. The menu is the standard BBQ restaurant menu with sandwiches, plates, potatoes, and salads. We had the smoked half chicken and it was very good. I definitely recommend going and checking them out.

Had an opportunity to try out the BBQ Joint. I had the Brisket, pulled chicken, sausage, jalepeno garlic pinto beans and Mac n Cheese. This was the best brisket I've had since moving to Huntsville. I prefer using Mesquite and pecan when smoking a brisket. But they use a good rub so it was very tasty. Very tender! Their sauces where fantastic. The white sauce was the best I've ever had and the sweet and spicy sauce was fantastic. I should also mention that the meat really didn't need the sauce.
I had an opportunity to chat with one of the owners and he was awesome! They will be expanding! If you're looking for great Alabama BBQ, give Hickory Store Craft BBQ a try!!!!

Had my first Alabama BBQ food experience. Most BBQ places here don't serve brisket. Alabama is known for their Pulled Pork and Hickory wood.
I had to give their brisket a shot. (Texan)
Brisket, Ribs, jalapeño garlic pinto beans & potato salad. Brisket was good 👍👍👍but it's not Mesquite smoked flavor good. The ribs were tasty - finger lickin' with the perfect consistency and bite👍👍👍👍The potato salad was different but good. 👍👍👍The pinto beans were super good.👍👍👍👍 Again, it's not Texas Mesquite smoked BBQ, but it was good. I was given a sample of their garlic flavored sausage. This was really good 👍👍👍👍in fact I'm craving it now 😫
I'll be returning to try other items off the menu. I had the opportunity to meet and speak to the owners, wife, and husband, Glen McAlpin. Both are super nice. Glen is a super great guy. Hickory Store Craft BBQ are only 3 weeks new. We spoke for a few minutes discussing the differences between Hickory and Mesquite wood. It's tough to get Mesquite here. I highly recommend this place if you want really good BBQ. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. I noticed many people eating the smoked wings. Those are on my list, as is the smoked chicken salad. They have several different BBQ sauces to choose from, but the meats were perfectly seasoned. No need for them.
My 1st Alabama BBQ experience was definitely a good one. Very clean, classy & comfortable atmosphere. Hickory Store Craft BBQ did not disappoint 🙌 😋

The store opened today. Normally you’d expect opening day snafus to happen but we didn’t see that. The crew was very polite, friendly, welcoming, and made sure every aspect of our visit was top notch. They have hired a great crew!

We tried quite a few things on the menu: brisket, fried green tomatoes with pulled pork and housemade remoulade, smoked wings, greens, Mac n cheese, beans, brisket egg rolls, smoked chicken salad. Everything was wonderful! Their housemade white sauce is the best I’ve had and more than just the vinegar/mayo most places serve. Their regular bbq sauce was pretty good too and complements the brisket nicely!

They don’t have their beer/wine license yet, but we brought our own and enjoyed the covered patio with fans and football. I can only see it getting better once they have a full line of local brews available to go with the bbq.

If you want good bbq and a nice place to enjoy it, I see this place being a great option. We live within walking distance, and I suspect we will have quite a few evenings enjoying the food on the patio!

Most of the meat items were cold. Need to work on tables, not to woble. Friendly staff. The smoked wings were the clear winner with smoked chicken coming in second. I'm sure if the other foods were warmer, it might have been different. Would highly recommend having more items on hand on opening night or weekend so you don't run out 4 hours to closing. We will try it again.
