Wok's Up

Great friendly service, and very clean. That being said, it was probably the worst $20 lunch I've had in a long time, and was very disappointed. Got the Kung Pow chicken, which was like 50% broccoli, with brown rice and a pork bun and a drink. The entree was somehow devoid of seasoning and spice, as if this Chinese restaurant didn't believe in salt or MSG. Pork bun was pretty good, if a little lacking in stuffing. There are much better options at Stovehouse.

The egg roll was crunchy but a bit mushy inside. Fried rice was pretty basic-no discernible seasonings, I added some after getting home. I'll keep searching for best Chinese in Huntsville.

Wok's Up is a new addition to the Stovehouse fast casual restaurants serving Chinese food. We were excited to try it for the first time but sadly left unimpressed. Overall, both the food and service wasn’t all that good. You would probably be better off getting Chinese food in the mall food court. For over $40 for 2 people, it definitely wasn’t worth it.

The only saving grace was the crab rangoons. They were actually pretty decent and it’s hard to find good ones in town. I ordered chicken fried rice and king pao chicken. Neither had much flavor to it.

When walking in, we were greeted at the counter and appeared that is where we ordered. However another customer came in and went straight to the back and started ordering from the assembly line counter. There is no signage or direction so I’m still unsure which one you’re supposed to do. They have a menu you can choose from and order your dish from the back or you can create your own bowl on the assembly line. Will most likely not return.
