Champy's Famous Fried Chicken - Madison

OMG I love Champy’s! Their fried chicken is amazing!!! I’ve had them before and just today I had dessert here after lunch and tried their Key Lime pie, it was OUTSTANDING!!!!!! So I had to come back again for their fried chicken since I didn’t do it earlier. Plus they had live music this evening so we got an little extra free entertainment. MUST check it out.

Came here for lunch (ordered to go) and got a chicken tender plate.

The chicken was really well done. The chicken to breading ratio is ideal so you're getting a good crunch with a large piece of perfectly cooked chicken under the breading.

The mashed potatoes were a good compliment to the chicken but they weren't anything special. I was hoping they'd be seasoned a bit more but the gravy was good enough to hide that so no big deal.

The baked beans were a little underwhelming. It's nice that they use different beans when they make this but the seasoning in the sauce isn't particularly good and the amount of onions (and what I believe was celery) kind of crowds the beans too much.

There was an attempt with the bread but its essentially just a very lightly toasted piece of sliced bread as you can see. It's not really doing the meal any favors but I suppose it's better than nothing.

Overall the meal was actually pretty good and the service at the restaurant was friendly and very fast so I'm likely coming back for some fried chicken and some other sides (I've heard good things about the fries)

Really good food. When we went there were not a lot of people there, early one evening during the week. The service at the time was good, no complaints there. The bar was starting to get full as we were getting ready to leave and the dining room had a few more people too. There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed the food. I would recommend this place to just about anyone. I'll be back for another updated review soon

Delicious! Absolutely delicious! This is my favorite place to eat. They have the BEST fried chicken in Alabama! Staff is super nice and always takes great care of me and my family. Food is cooked fresh so give it time to get to your table. Watch out as it will be piping hot!

Everything was delicious! I'm picky about the coating on fried foods, but they did everything so well. The fried jalapenos were delicious, fresh, and crispy, as was the fried okra. The service was amazing as well. All of the staff was very sweet and courteous. We will definitely be back!
