Big Cove BBQ

Been eating there for years and they have the best barbeque around.

Overall: Great service, friendly staff, excellent food, great iced tea. What else do you need?
The place: This place is a really small joint located close to WalMart off of Sutton and Governers in Owens Cross Roads, AL. You pull in the gravel parking lot and then walk into the small building to the smell of good BBQ. The menu on the wall is easy to read and the prices are very reasonable. I ordered the RIB PLATE for $9.99 from the owner, James.
The food: The food came out in a nice plate but a good helpings worth because I eat a lot. The ribs were delicious and meaty and they were not slathered in sauce like other places do to cover up sub-par meat. The sides were tasty (Potato Salad, Baked Beans and Rolls) and the Iced Tea was excellent. I judge a lot of places from their Iced Tea. If their tea is not fresh, most likely I like to think that their food is not either. But the plate was excellent and I had no problem finishing it.
Overall: I will definitely be back to try their other menu items.
Recommendation: Rib Plate for now! It was really good.

I saw an article in the newspaper over ten years ago they received best barbecue award and ventured over the mountain to try and we all loved it. I usually got a chicken plate with others getting the pork. Portions were always more than enough and too tasty.

Absolutely fantastic the best smoked chicken ever, so tender I could put the plastic fork all the way through. Potato salad n beans good also. Quick service.
