I've been here twice so far. The tasting menu is delightful, and the pairing of wines is thoughtful and fully match each dish! We've met Chef Jim on both occasions. This is truly a hidden gem of Mobile. This place is definitely some of the best eats I've had in Mobile. Just a warning, the pastry/dessert is lacking, but that is not on Chef Jim, but rather, the pastry chef. Everything up to that is amazing.

Wow. I do not say this lightly, this may be the best meal I've ever had. My best friends and I had the tasting menu with the wine pairing in late March 2021. The food was insanely delicious, the place was beautiful, and I felt very safe with their pandemic safety measures. Thank you, Chef Jim Smith. I will never look at tofu the same way again. Side note: just look at the Wagyu beef rib with roasted vegetables in red wine jus!! Chef Jim, If you ever want to host a Zoom class on how to make roasted vegetables, I'm there!

I want to say up front that most of our food was excellent. The fried crab claw appetizer was one of the best I've had. My wife got the Chicken Pot Pie and I got the Hanger Steak for respective entrees, and both were extremely good. Our desserts were just "ok", but that's as much due to my taste as anything, although my chocolate cake was very dry. So, why only a 3? (I would probably give a 3.5 if that was an option.) Our meal took over 2 hours from start to finish, and while I enjoy taking my time with dining, having to wait so long after ordering isn't great, especially considering that they weren't very busy. The other thing is that the music was so loud that it felt like being in a club rather than a fine dining restaurant. So loud that others in the establishment talking to one another were having to talk over the music, making the scene that much louder. I asked for it to be turned down once, but it didn't seem to happen.
The prices aren't outrageous, but considering what we paid I would expect a better overall experience. They have a lot of potential, so we may go back and try again sometime.

First the charm of the location and house helps with making this place great. We had a party there and tried a variety of dishes, for the most part every dish was fantastic and the ones that didn't completely make a score of 10 were still above average. The fish was cooked to perfection, the oysters were grill and season perfectly, crab cakes had big chunks of crab and much more. I would like to see something done more with a couple of the sides (lima beans, sweet potato). Really the only complaint was the time for the initial drink order and time to get them to the table and lack of pop with the side dishes just didn't compliment the main dish. We weren't in a hurry so the wait wasn't really much of a problem to us but could have been for others. The wait could have been because they were busy and just opening back up. I would and will visit again, looking forward to some of the delicious food again.

Chef Jim Smith makes amazing, masterful dishes that will certainly please nearly any palate. Layers of impressive flavor are packed into every creation of his. But the tastes don't end there. The bar also puts together fantastic, creative cocktails that adds to your dining experience. To top it off, the folks that work there are quite friendly and helpful. Please don't miss out on this wonderful place.
