Folks are friendly, large selection to choose from & u can chose all veg plate, meat & 1 veg, m & 2veg, m & 3veg or just meat. They have prices for each. Breads: rolls, cornbread, Mexican cornbread, cheese biscuit. Good deserts. Drinks are extra. They have the same menu daily with 1 or 2 different items each day on a rotation. A bit pricey. You do get a good size serving. Some things are really good & others are just a reg frozen cty fried steak Patty. Always have chicken, poppy seed chicken casserole, mash potatoes/gray, green beans, rice, carrot salad, butter beans, black eye peas, cabbage, slaw, corn & other daily items. Rotate salmon patties, meat loaf, fish. Chicken & dumping.

Southern home cooking when you don’t feel like to cook it yourself. Came here on a Sunday after church and it was busy but not overwhelming.
I had friend chicken with 2 sides - greens and sweet potato. The chicken was finger sucking good and the sweet potato was heavenly. The greens on the hand is a little bland. Husband also had fried chicken but with Mac N Cheese & broccoli casserole, both were yummy!!
For $9.99 that’s not too bad of a deal!

SERVICE: On a Friday morning, the wait was about 30 minutes for 2 people. There will always be a wait because it's a small place, about 12 tables and that's it. However, I think the wait is even longer because the service is so slow - from the time your waiters get your order to the time your food is given. It's just really slow.

FOOD: The Captain Crunch French Toast was good, it is dry but the crust is sweet and crispy. The Sweet Baby Jesus was okay but did not live up to the hype. The eggs benedict was also okay, has a bit of sweetness in it which is unique. The eggs are very fresh though which is awesome.

Overall, I think it was the French toast that made the visit worthwhile. I would still come back to try other food but I would not be dying to come back. I hope the other stuff in the menu are better.

I love the cafeteria-style Southern restaurant. Meat and threes open up a world or possibilities, and most of them end up being pretty darn good. Blue Moon Cafe an excellent modern realization of this concept, with a wide open space with lots of tables and plenty of people to help you get your drinks and anything else you'll need. Plus, they're even open for Sunday lunch (though it costs a bit more than the rest of the week).

HOW do these places manage to keep their fried chicken crispy when it's sitting in that hotel pan, waiting for me to pick it up? I'll never understand, but Blue Moon's was awesome, with a crispy crunch that was more airy than some other places I've tried around here. Collards and broccoli casserole were just dandy, too. The carrot salad was sweet enough to work as a dessert, if you weren't so inclined to grab an actual dessert from the buffet line.

As I sat there and ate my Sunday lunch, I watched the stream of people filter in through the door, no doubt coming straight from church and wanting to indulge in the particular speciality that defines this part of the country. Even if the taste of the food hadn't convinced me, I knew from the local support that Blue Moon Cafe is the real deal.
