Always great food, good service, and friendly employees. Love the gift shops too because you can find stuff you can't find anywhere else. Love the atmosphere....fireplace makes it homey.
For starters, we arrived a little after six pm, it took literally forty min. to get our food. I wasn’t all that hungry so I ordered a couple eggs and one pc. of sausage. Together with my family we ordered a plate of biscuits. I wanted coffee. They charged me $2.50 for each small cup of coffee, they charged us for the creamer, they charged us for refills on tea, they charged us a premium price on my two eggs and sausage. I could have just ordered a steak with all the fixings literally for what they charged me. I had to ask three times for coffee refills and my family had to ask twice for butter and jelly& extra napkins. The eggs were runny when I asked for well done eggs. The service in Decatur was mediocre at best. When we asked to speak to the Manager, out came a kid that acted like he was doing us a favor in speaking with us. He was not very helpful at all and literally said to the waitress, in front of us “ I don’t know, we’ll have to talk about it”, when I asked for a price adjustment on my coffee refills instead of discussing it with me. Needless to say, I’ll be going to another breakfast house the next time I want a late night breakfast! Cracker Barrel needs to get their act together, provide better, friendlier service and also provide free refills on drinks. Otherwise there are too many other places in Decatur that do!
We went at 4:15, before the Saturday crowd. We were seated immediately, but the waitress still took a while to get to our table. Service was so so, including my sweet tea glass being empty for at least 10 minutes. I had the Country Fried Chicken, my daughter the grilled chicken strips with fries. The fried items (my chicken, her fries) were VERY greasy, as if they hadn't been drained properly before plating. All in all, a sub-par experience.
I really enjoy the meals. Seems everything is good and Breakfast is my favorite. Staff is very friendly and willing to help in any way. Returning customer...
The food and service is always good. You can never go wrong with crackle barrel and it's very clean. I love ordering off the 7.99 a meat and 2 veggies and they have the best chicken and veggies and plenty for that price.
