Mike & Ed's Bar-B-Q

I placed an order through Waitr (will never do that again) and there was an issue with the driver which resulted in the food not being delivered. I had just sucked it up and decided to place an order with another app for a different restaurant but then Jessica (I think was her name) called back and asked if I still wanted my food and if so - she would be more than happy to deliver it herself. I graciously and profusely thanked her for that and couldn't believe that they would go out of their way like that.

But, it gets even better folks - one of the owners personally reached out to me, sincerely apologized for the issue (though that wasn't necessary as this issue was of no fault of theirs whatsoever) and let me know that he was personally taking care of what he could on his end.

I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see this superior level of customer service in this day and age. Not only is their food great - but each and every one of them truly care about their customers and reputation. I was truly surprised and nearly speechless at how far above and beyond they went to make sure I was happy and fed. Southern Hospitality at its finest!

Love this place. A local staple for BBQ. If you haven't been and want great southern food then this is a must! Even the salads are wonderful!

Overall enjoyed our order today. I am spoiled on TX BBQ, which is generally beef. Southern bbq is NOT as good, not usually beef either. However, today we tried a pound of beef brisket from Mike & Ed's and it was moist and delightfully tender! Enjoyed it tremendously. Would be nice if it was automatically served with bread, sliced dill pickles and one side. If they did, it would come real close to being like TX BBQ. I would order the brisket again, very delicious! Tried the Brunswick stew, not crazy about the stuff, just me though. I don't understand the southern tradition of stew served with BBQ.

Great BBQ that doesn't try to complicate BBQ tastes. Plenty of BBQ flavor and awesome pulled pork sandwiches and Brunswick stew. Try the scrambled dog..OMG!????????
